Who is EF Moon?
EF Moon, born Elijah Friday, is a Lagos-based Nigerian singer and songwriter who blends Afrobeats, trap, rock and alternative pop. His real name appears in RADARCharts’ June 2026 profile and in the songwriting credits on streaming listings.
He has become a name to watch in 2026 for three reasons. His single “I Knoww” spread on TikTok, his first project MOON 1 landed on 4 June 2026, and he now has records with Ayo Maff and Blaqbonez. He is also easy to spot: a crescent moon tattoo on his forehead and a pet monkey that appears in his visuals.
He is an independent act with a short public record, so many biographical details are unconfirmed. This guide marks each fact as confirmed, reported by one outlet, or not publicly confirmed.

Early life and background
Very little about EF Moon’s childhood is public. No source we checked confirms his birth date, birthplace, schooling or parents.
What is documented comes from one profile. RADARCharts says his identity is rooted in family and heritage, that his roots are in Cross River State, and that his creative growth happened in Lagos. It adds that he absorbed Afrobeats, rock, trap and alternative sounds, which matches the mix in his music.
Two biography sites, Biography Insights and Gistflare, point to Kogi State and the Igala people instead. Biography Insights itself says the state of origin is “not fully settled”. We list it as unresolved.
An Artist Spotlight on Rolling Units says he writes instinctively, straight from thought and emotion, rather than following a set process.
Stage name and identity
RADARCharts reports that the name “Moon” traces back to “Ochu”, an Igala name his grandfather gave him. That is the only first-hand-style explanation of the stage name we found, and the biography sites repeat it.
The forehead crescent moon tattoo is described by Rolling Units as a tribute to that grandfather-given name. The same profile mentions a line tattoo from his lip downward and a pet monkey named Moon. A Culture Custodian review separately notes a monkey in the visual for “Life is Slo”.
No source we opened says what “EF” stands for. It matches the initials of Elijah Friday, but that is an observation, not a confirmed explanation.
Music career beginnings
EF Moon’s Audiomack profile shows a member-since date of March 2022. That marks when the account opened, not necessarily his first release, and no source says when or how he began making music.
The earliest dated release we could confirm is the single “Normal”, listed as 2024 on Apple Music. Apple Music lists a run of 2025 singles after it: “Cheat on Me”, “Investing” (feat. Star Jay), “Ehosa” (feat. Star Jay), “one more time”, “If” and “Cherish You”. Star Jay, his main collaborator, appears on his records from 2025 at the latest.
Biography Insights adds earlier tracks such as “Dangote”, “Bag of P”, “King of the Moon” and “Jessica (Freestyle)” and dates most to 2024. We could not match those to a streaming listing, so treat them as unverified.
He also appears as a guest on other acts’ songs. Apple Music lists 2025 features on “Pisces” and “Alhamdulillah”, and he is credited on Star Jay’s “Ijo”.
Breakthrough songs and collaborations
“I Knoww” (feat. Star Jay). This is his breakout record. RADARCharts calls it a defining release, and Culture Custodian says it circulated widely on TikTok and describes it as Bouyon-influenced. It runs just 1:22. We found no verified stream count, so claims that it is his “most streamed” song remain unconfirmed.
“Life is Slo”. Culture Custodian describes it as a punk R&B hybrid, and the visual features his monkey. It opens MOON 1 as a solo track.
“Life is Slo II” (with Ayo Maff). Deezer lists this release on 30 July 2026, with songwriting credits to Elijah Friday and Ayo Maff’s legal name.
“I Knoww II” (feat. Blaqbonez). Deezer dates it 10 September 2026, and Notjustok published the lyrics on 14 September. It is his highest-profile collaboration so far.
“Life Is Slo & I Knoww (Live Performance)”. A live recording credited to Glitch Africa, released 31 July 2026 per Deezer.
Note on dates: Apple Music, Deezer and Shazam list “I Knoww” as released 17 April 2026, but another Apple Music page shows 30 January 2026. The original single date needs confirmation from the artist or label.
Albums, EPs and mixtapes
EF Moon has one major project, MOON 1, released on 4 June 2026 according to Audiomack. Apple Music dates a track from it 3 June, likely a time-zone difference. Audiomack files it as an album, while Culture Custodian and Voxtrendy call it an EP. We use “project” to stay accurate. We found no mixtapes.

Musical style
EF Moon resists one label. Platforms tag him differently: Afrosounds on Audiomack, Alternative on Apple Music’s artist page, and Afro-pop on one single. RADARCharts describes a blend of Afro-fusion, alternative pop, trap, rock and indigenous textures, with themes of love, resilience, self-reflection and growth.
Critics point to specific hybrids. Culture Custodian hears Bouyon influence on “I Knoww”, punk R&B on “Life is Slo” and ragga on “Fearful”, and compares his fashion-forward look to Denrele Edun. Voxtrendy places “Relax” between Alté, Afrosounds and melodic rap.
On production, Star Jay is the constant. Voxtrendy credits him as producer of “Relax”, and he is billed beside EF Moon on eight of nine MOON 1 tracks. Several of his records are short, such as the 1:22 “I Knoww” and the 1:39 “Express”.
No source we opened names his musical influences. RADARCharts only says he draws on Afrobeats, rock, trap and alternative sounds.
Record label and collaborations
Label. Audiomack lists his label as Moonite Records, and Apple Music shows a 2026 Moonite Records copyright on “I Knoww”. For MOON 1, Audiomack’s copyright line reads Inner Circle Entertainment under exclusive license from Moonites Limited, and Shazam names Inner Circle Entertainment Ltd. as the releasing company.
So a label or imprint called Moonite or Moonites exists, with Inner Circle Entertainment involved in MOON 1. We could not confirm whether Moonite Records is his own imprint, and RADARCharts simply calls him independent. One biography site says he releases through his own imprints, but offers no source.
Management. No public management arrangement was found.
Collaborators.
- Star Jay: producer and vocalist, billed on eight of nine MOON 1 tracks and on 2025 singles “Investing” and “Ehosa”. EF Moon also appears on Star Jay’s “Ijo”.
- Ayo Maff: “Life is Slo II”, July 2026.
- Blaqbonez: “I Knoww II”, September 2026.
- Glitch Africa: credited on his live performance release, July 2026.
Rolling Units also reports visual collaborations with Blaqbonez and Khaid. We could confirm Blaqbonez, but not Khaid.

EF Moon’s age and net worth
Age. EF Moon has not publicly confirmed his date of birth or age. One biography site leaves the field blank and another says it is unconfirmed. We do not estimate it.
Net worth. No verified figure exists. Some biography sites publish dollar ranges with no sourcing or method, and we do not repeat them. Treat any exact number as a guess until the artist or a credible financial report provides one.
What’s next for EF Moon
His most recent confirmed release is “I Knoww II” with Blaqbonez, dated 10 September 2026. It follows a pattern of 2026 releases that includes MOON 1, a collaboration with Ayo Maff and a live recording for Glitch Africa.
He has built an audience independently, and bigger names are now appearing on his records. No upcoming project, tour or label deal has been publicly announced as far as we could find. Whether that wider attention converts into larger streaming numbers is not yet measurable from public data.
