“awade” is the opening track from Nigerian Afro-R&B singer-songwriter FOLA‘s sophomore studio album, 9, released in mid-2026. Distributed through T.Y.E. and EMPIRE, the track serves as an atmospheric entry point to the nine-track project.
The song blends soft Afro-fusion grooves with ambient R&B synth pads and warm percussive elements. Translating to “we have arrived” or “I am here” in Yoruba, “awade” functions both as a literal introduction to the album and as an artistic statement marking FOLA’s growth following his debut work and high-profile feature appearances, including his collaboration with BNXN on the Still In Charge EP.
As the project’s sonic springboard, the track sets a contemplative tone, balancing themes of self-actualization, newfound prominence, and personal evolution. “awade” and the full album 9 are available for streaming across all major digital music platforms worldwide.
